The Porte de l'Hippodrome is a gate to Paris, France, located in the Bois de Boulogne and attached to the 16th arrondissement.
Situation and access: The Porte de l'Hippodrome is located 300 m northwest of the Porte de Boulogne and 2,900 m southwest of the Porte de la Seine (between the two, no western access to the wood is described as "gate"). It is located on the boulevard Anatole-France at the northern borders of Boulogne-Billancourt and Paris. The door of the Hippodrome has no access to the tracks of the device.
Origin of name: It bears this name because it is located near the Longchamp racetrack.
As one of the southern entrance doors to the wood, it was not part of Thiers' enclosure. Formerly located on the territory of Boulogne-Billancourt, it is annexed to Paris by decree of 3 April 1925. There are two of the old entrance pavilions of the Bois de Boulogne, created by the architect Gabriel Davioud in the framework of the Haussmannian works, under which the redevelopment of the wood takes place.
