Archaeological site
site gallo-romain des Cars
The Gallo-Roman site of the Cars, composed of ruins of funeral buildings and a villa, is an archaeological complex dating from the first half of the 2nd century AD located on horseback on the communes of Saint-Merd-les-Oussines and Perols-sur-Vézère (Corrèze). The site is classified as historical monuments by order of 11 September 1935. The first excavations were conducted by Marius Vazeilles. A museum in Meymac exhibits objects discovered in the Cars.
