Stadium
stade Hélitas
Helitas Stadium is a multi-sport stadium in the city of Caen, located on Albert-Sorel Avenue. He derives his name from the prefect Maurice Hélitas who decided to build the enclosure. It is first called the departmental stadium and follows on from the Venoix Sports Park which previously hosted athletics and rugby competitions.
He took his present name after a deliberation by the company that ran the compound on December 30, 1925. It features a 400-metre track, grassy terrain, a gymnasium (Rufa room), tennis courts and a skatepark. Until 2017, the clubs of the Caennais Ovalie and the Caennais Rugby Club played at home.
The Caen Athletic Club is still the resident club.
