Monumental sculpture
statue équestre d'Henri IV
The equestrian statue of Henri IV is a monument located on the Place du Pont-Neuf in Paris, France. It was inaugurated in 1818. This bronze statue of the sculptor François-Frédéric Lemot represents Henri IV on horseback, crowned with laurel and holding a scepter. It replaces a first equestrian statue of 1614, commissioned by Marie de Medici and shot down in 1792, as well as a second provisional statue erected in 1814.
