About

The Viaduct de Nogent-sur-Marne is a viaduct of the line from Paris-Est to Mulhouse and the line of the big belt of Paris, between the stations of Nogent - Le Perreux and the Boullereaux-Champigny, served by the E line of the regional express network of Île-de-France (RER). It allows the line to cross the Marne. In the 19th century, it had thirty masonry arches with a maximum range of 50 metres.

It was energized by the Germans during World War II on 25 August 1944 and the destroyed arches were replaced by reinforced concrete arches in 1945. In the meantime, the trains originated from Paris-Bastille station and used the line from Paris-Bastille to Marles-en-Brie to Verneuil-l'Étang station where they took over the historical route, and vice versa. In 1975, it was extended by the crossing bridge of Highway A4.
