About

The test track of the Orléans Aerotrain is an experimental monorail guided transport line built in 1968. It spans 18 km between Saran and Ruan in the French department of Loiret, in the region Centre-Val de Loire. Designed to circulate the aerotrains made by French engineer Jean Bertin, it was mainly used for testing prototypes I80-250 and I80-HV from 1969 to 1974.

The I80-HV set the world speed record for guided transport at 430.4 km/h on March 5, 1974. Planned to join a future Paris-Orléans axis, it has been decommissioned since 1977.
