About

Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce is a Catholic church built in the first half of the 20th century, from 1937 to 1946, on the plateau of Assyria, at exactly 1,000 meters above sea level, facing the Mont Blanc chain, on the territory of the commune of Passy (Haute-Savoie), at the initiative of Canon Jean Devémy (1896-1981), by Savoyard architect Maurice Novarina. She owes her fame to her decoration, made by the greatest artists of the time. It is considered one of the major buildings of the revival of sacred art in the twentieth century.

At the time of its consecration in 1950, this church resolutely turned towards modern art shocked a traditionalist part of the French clergy, accustomed to more classicism. Since June 11, 2004, Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce has been classified as historical monuments.
