Saint-Antoine-du-Désert Church is a church located in Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye, at the isolated end of the valley towards the Ubaye springs in France. After the high geological lock of the Blachière, a group of several hamlets close to each other, La Barge, Maljasset, Combe-Brémont, Saint Bernard (disappeared) occupied this difficult valley. Remote, they were more than an hour's walk in the summer from all other inhabited areas.
It is for this reason that in 1431 the erection of this community in parish resulted. At that time all the inhabitants had to descend to Serenne like the inhabitants of Fouillouse (until 1534 for the latter) to reach their parish priest who sometimes went to their bedside.
