About

Saint-Barthélemy Church is a Catholic parish church located in the commune of Rion-des-Landes, in the French department of Landes. Today attached to the parish of Notre-Dame du Midadour and to the diocese of Aire and Dax, the church was built fortified in the Middle Ages, it was then rebuilt during the Renaissance and was the place of the commune's first meetings and municipal elections during its conversion to the Temple of Reason during the French Revolution. The last major works of the nineteenth century gave him his current majesty. It has in its bell tower the oldest bell in the Landes department, dating from the 14th century, it has been classified since 5 June 2003.
