Church building
église Saint-Georges de Vesoul
The church of Saint-Georges de Vesoul is the main church of Vesoul, located in the Haute-Saône department (eastern France). Built from 1735 to 1745 as a collegiate church, it replaces an old church erected during the Middle Ages, already dedicated to St George. During the Revolution, she was briefly raised as cathedral of the diocese of Vesoul under the Constitutional Church (1791-1801).
Located in the heart of the historic centre of Vesoul, the church has been listed as a historical monument since 1993. The church also houses some 40 works of art, including carved groups, an organ and several paintings.
