église Saint-Martin de Pons
The church of Saint Martin is the most important of the two parish churches in the town of Pons, in Charente-Maritime. Located in the heart of the upper city, in the historical centre, this ancient Protestant temple was converted into a place of Catholic worship in 1629 at the instigation of the recollets, which made it the chapel of their new convent. Considerably enlarged in the first half of the 19th century, the church was again consecrated on November 18, 1834. It has been included in the additional inventory of historic monuments since 26 October 1998.
