History: In 1177, the church was mentioned by the archbishop of Besançon, Humbert de Scey, in a missive addressed to the prior of Lanthenans entrusting him with responsibility for the church of Saint-Maurice. The present church was built in the 15th century and redesigned in the 19th century, especially for its foreclose. Saint-Maurice Church has been listed as a historical monument since 30 March 1998.

Relationship: The church is part of the parish of Maîche (known as the Plateau de Maîche parish) which is attached to the diocese of Besançon.

In Gothic style, the church is composed of a 19th-century foredog mounted on columns. Prior to the front porch, a 15th century bell tower with a roof in the pavilion and is open with small bays in the middle of the hangar. The nave, entirely rebuilt in the 19th century, is characterized by the triumphal arch that separates it from the choir.
