The Saint-Pierre de Maîche church is a church in Maîche, France.
History: The present Saint Peter church was built between 1753 and 1760 to replace the old church that had suffered damage during the Ten Years' War. The dome was not completed until 1767. After being registered, Saint-Pierre de Maiche Church is classified as historical monuments by order of 25 January 1990.
Relationship: The church is part of the parish of Maîche (known as the Plateau de Maîche parish) which is attached to the diocese of Besançon.
The architecture of the church is Corinthian in Baroque influence. The large nave is 42 meters long, 30 meters wide and 16 meters high.
It has two side altars dedicated to Saint-Michel, patron saint of the parish and Saint-Modeste whose body rests in a chassée. The church houses a commemorative plaque in memory of the 19 guillotines during the episode of the Petite Vendée in 1793. The painter Jean Le Moal renovated the decorations of the church in 1950.
