History: The parish of Saint-Michel de Guzargues was first mentioned in 1111. The Romanesque church was built in the middle of the 12th century. It has been listed as a historical monument since 11 October 1971.

External architecture: The most remarkable remaining elements of the Romanesque church are the bedside, the apsidial window, the tympanum of the southern gate and the capitals of the nave.

Bedside: The bedside is built of fine cut stone assembled in opus monspeliensis. It is surmounted by a bevelled cornice and covered with Roman tiles. The apsidial double-brassed window is framed by two beautiful columns decorated, at their base, with a double oric ring and, at their top, with a carved capital adorned with palmettes for the right and lions for the left. These capitals support an oric arc (boudin).
