église Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Phébade de Venerque
Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Phébade Church in Venerque is a Catholic church located in Venerque, France. The building was classified as historical monuments in 1840. It is a monument whose construction chronology is not well known.
This church is therefore very complex to study. It has been profoundly redesigned from the remains of the first 11th century abbey to the 19th century works that give it its present face. To sum up briefly we will say that at the base it is probably the ancient abbey whose construction begins in the thirteenth century, starting from the choir of the eleventh century.
The major construction phases of the church began with the construction of the stone bedside in the 12th century. It was fortified in the 13th century with its round paths. It was restored in the 19th century where its fortified character was emphasized.
