Location: The church is located in the French department of Lot-et-Garonne, on the commune of Casseneuil which is located on a terrace limited by the Lot and a tributary, the Léde.

The Romanesque church was destroyed during the siege of the city by Simon de Montfort in 1214. There are still two capitals that have been used in the north side. In the 13th century, the church was dedicated to St Peter and St Paul. The church retains several phases of construction in its structure with lateral stone walls in the eastern part and in bic elsewhere. The largest work campaign giving it its present form dates back to the 15th century and was completed in the early 16th century. frescoes dating from the early 16th century decorate the three vaults of the choir. The flamboyant Gothic Western portal dates back to the same period. The apse of the choir collapsed in the Lède in the 17th century.
