Church building
église Saint-Saturnin d'Antony
The Saint-Saturnin church of Antony is on the one hand one of the main elements of the rich heritage of Antony, a commune in France in the Île-de-France region and on the other hand the main place of worship of the parish of Saint-Saturnin of Antony, one of the 81 parishes of Hauts-de-Seine. Typical of the Gothic architecture of the rural churches of the region, with its rectangular plan, its facade and flat bedside, its lateral bell tower, it reveals, inside, three epochs of construction corresponding to the three epochs of relative prosperity of Île-de-France: 8th century, 12th century and end of the 14th century after the Hundred Years War. It is also the church of Île-de-France that preserves the oldest parts of the Carolingian era.
The building has been listed as a historic monument since 19 October 1928. The Saint-Saturnin parish of Antony is one of the 14 parishes of the "dean of the Pointe Sud", one of the 9 dean of the diocese of Nanterre.
