About

The church of Saint-Sulpice de Fougères is one of the parish churches of Fougères, located at the foot of the castle of Fougères, outside the city walls. Catholic worship takes place every Saturday in this church, Mass at 11:00 and confessions from 10:00 to 11:00. Raised between the moats of the castle and the former courtyard of Nançon, in the medieval district of tanners, it constitutes the heart of the old town (city-bass), as opposed to the church of Saint-Léonard, located in the village-neuf (city-high) which developed from the twelfth century. As a major part of the Fountain heritage, Saint Sulpice Church was classified as a historical monument on 26 September 1910.
