château de Fougères
The Château de Fougères is one of the most imposing French castles, occupying an area of two hectares, and constituting a medieval ensemble from the 12th to the 15th century. Built to defend the north-eastern part of the border zone of the Duchy of Brittany, the steps of Brittany, the castle is classified in part as historical monuments, and it has been listed as an archaeological site since 18 April 1914.
