About

The Greek urban island of the College of Old Port is a historical monument of Marseille. It preserves remains dating back to the founding of the Phocean city, the Greek Marseilles, in the sixth century BC. In the middle of the 6th century BC, the buildings in the northern part of the island were destroyed and replaced by massive building in large blocks of white limestone.

It has been classified as historic monuments since 19 May 2009. These remains are grouped into a 17-metre-long urban island, surrounded by streets made up of gravel recharges. The quality of the buildings and archaeological furniture collected, where banquet dishes predominate, suggests that these remains are related to a public or cultural building.
