Théâtre antique de Marseille

Marseille's ancient theatre is a performance building located in the city hall district. It was built in Augustan times, in an architectural style similar to that of ancient Greek theatres, of which it adopts several characteristics. It is about 115 m wide. Its remains, very partial and buried under the Old Port College, have been classified as historical monuments since 1966.
