The covered driveway of Belleville is a stone grave located in the commune of Vendrest in the Seine-et-Marne department.

History: The burial was discovered in 1908 by P. Reynier: "carriers, by exploiting sandstones (to make them pavements), discovered a burial. Having been informed, I went to the scene; and I found that under a large block of these sandstones, of a thickness of 1.60 m, were numerous bones. After examining them, there was no longer any doubt: it was indeed a neolithic burial." It was searched and restored in 1909-1910 by Marcel Baudouin. It has been owned by the French Prehistoric Society since 1908.

Description: The building is improperly called covered driveway. It is in fact a cavity dug under slab in the sand whose walls consist of dry stone walls. Two slabs placed vertically, such as orthostats but without supporting the covering slab delimit the entrance of the chamber (0.55 m wide). The sepulchral chamber is 6.20 m long with a width of 1.65 m near the entrance to 1.80 m near the bottom. The height under the slab...
