About

The dolmen de Villaine site is an archaeological site located in the municipality of Sublaines, in the department of Indre-et-Loire. The Villaine site was used from the "Recent Neolithic 2" (between 3,350 and 3,000 BC), then from the Bronze Age and finally during the Merovingian period. The archaeological site, of a funeral nature, includes a dolmen and a necropolis. The megalith was found at the end of the 19th century, while the necropolis, founded in the Merovingian period, was discovered and then searched between 1964 and 1966.
