cathédrale Notre-Dame de Laon
Notre-Dame de Laon Cathedral is a Catholic building in Laon, Aisne, France. It is one of the first major Gothic buildings in France. Built after the abbey church of Saint-Denis, Notre-Dame de Noyon Cathedral and Saint-Étienne de Sens Cathedral, it is contemporary of Notre-Dame de Paris: it is representative of the first Gothic art for the interior elevation and the so-called "classic" Gothic for the upper parts of the facades and for the towers. This ancient cathedral dedicated to Notre Dame, belonging to the municipality of Laon, is a historic monument, officially protected since 1840.
