About

The Paul-Couturier Chapel is a Catholic religious building located on Rue Henri-IV in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. Built at the end of the 19th century on the plans of architect Louis Sainte-Marie Perrin for the community of the Sisters of Restorative Adoration, it is one of Paul Couturier's privileged places of prayer at the beginning of the 20th century, and the place where the week of prayer for Christian unity was launched in 1933. In 1982, the chapel as well as the home of adjacent students were entrusted to the Chemin Neuf community. The chapel was then renamed "Paul Couturier" in tribute to this pioneer of ecumenism.
