War memorial
monument aux morts d'Elne
The monument to the dead of Elne is a monument to the dead created by the French sculptor Aristide Maillol located in Elne (Pyrénées-Orientales). Shocked by World War I, Aristide Maillol made four monuments to the dead free of charge in his birth department: in Céret (1922), Banyuls-sur-Mer (1933), Elne (1921) and Port-Vendres (1923). The statue holds a banner bearing the inscription "The city of Elne to his children dead for the homeland".
