Prestressed concrete bridge
pont de Brotonne
The Brotonne Bridge is located in Normandy, between Le Havre and Rouen. He spans the Seine since 1977 east of Caudebec-en-Caux. It was financed by the Seine-Maritime General Council to de-enclave the country of Caux and to provide in particular the link between Yvetot and the A13 motorway by crossing the forest of Brotonne, hence its name.
Only two bridges span the Seine downstream: the Tancarville Bridge and the Normandy Bridge. It is a deck with a fan structure. Its 320 m central span of prestressed concrete, was when it was put into service the longest in the world.
It consists of youssoirs assembled by successive corbellations on both sides of the main pillars. Its construction resulted in the removal of the Seine de Caudebec and La Mailleraye ferries.
