About

The Granet Museum is a museum of fine arts, archaeology and decorative art located in Place Saint-Jean-de-Malte in Aix-en-Provence. Opened to the public in 1838, this museum has undergone several renovations since the 1990s to guarantee better conditions of exposure to its rich permanent collections. It regularly programmes temporary exhibitions. Since 2013, the chapel of the White Penitents, listed as a historical monument and located nearby, constitutes an annex of the museum, under the name "Granet xxe", and presenting numerous works of the 20th century deposited by the Planque Foundation (including paintings by Pablo Picasso, Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet or Jean Dubuffet).
