About

Chanteur Park is a green space located in Villeurbanne, between Charpennes-Tonkin and Gratte-Ciel. With an area of 6,250 m2, it is surrounded by the streets Francis de Pressensé to the south, Colin to the east, Jean Ottavi to the north and Descartes to the west. The park was established in 1994 on land previously occupied by factories and buildings, but also on old vegetable land cultivated by the Singer family over 12,000 m2. The plane trees of the old house "Chanteur" have been preserved. The park was expanded in 2016 on 1,600 m2 against Descartes Street, in a spirit of "ecological promenade" with different plant atmospheres. Today it has a wide lawn, an outdoor fitness area equipped with sports facilities, chat rooms, a children's playground and wild wood.

The main entrance is at the crossroads of Francis de Pressensé and Colin streets. Two other secondary entrances lead to the streets Descartes and Jean Ottavi, passing under the residential buildings
