The Bercy barrier, also known as the hens barrier, is an old barrier for granting the General Farmers' compound.
Situation: The Bercy barrier was located near the crossing of Bercy Street with Bercy Boulevard and the round road of the enclosure 300 metres northeast of the Rapee Barrier near the entrance of the current Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Origin of name: It was called "Bercy Barrier" because it is located on Bercy Street. The reason for his other name is unknown.
History: The barrier consisted of 2 pavilions built under the direction of architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux. Their construction, like that of the other barrier buildings, was stopped following a decision of the Council of State of 7 September 1787 when they were completed for the most part at a cost of 100,000 pounds. These pavilions were disused and rented. The barrier was removed on 1 January 1860 with all the barriers of the Wall of the General Farmers when the grant was moved to the Thiers compound.
