About

The castellas de Tournemire is a medieval fortress in ruins located in the commune of Moules-et-Baulels, in the French department of Hérault (department). It is located on the Blancardy estate, a few kilometers east of Ganges. Set at the foot of the Bois de Laroque mountain, it commands a wide plain which opens between the road of Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort (the ancient Ruthenes road) to the north, and the episodic course of Merdanson to the south. In front, the castle of Ginestoux (with its high quadrangular tower of 25 m) and that of the Oliviers, both of ancient foundation, rises, within a short distance from each other.

The Castellas de Tournemire has been listed as a Historic Monument since February 2025.
