About

The Mazuras rocks (sometimes with the singular Mazuras rock, even Mazuras rocks) are both rocky chaos and a top of the Central Massif, located in the French department of Creuse. Their altitude is 626 m. Located in the municipality of Faux-Mazuras and overlooking the city of Bourganeuf, they constitute one of the northern endings of the Limous Mountain.

The site has an ancient tourist reputation, from the 19th century, due to its picturesque landscape and the beauty of its panorama. The scale of the latter, however, fell sharply during the 20th century, as for a large number of peaks of the Limous Mountain, in line with the progress of the wasteland and forest plantation. Mazuras rocks have been ranked as sites since their listing on May 27, 1936.
