About

The Strasbourg Europe Bridge - Kehl is a border road bridge between Germany and France over the Rhine. It is a four-lane road bridge that allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross roads. This is the only road bridge linking Strasbourg to Kehl and it was until the opening of the Two Rives bridge in 2004, also the only crossing to cross the Rhine for pedestrians and cyclists.

The current bridge dates from 1960 and its name is the symbol of Franco-German reconciliation in the aftermath of the Second World War. Approximately 130,000 vehicles per day pass through this bridge. It is the most frequented cross-border crossing point between France and Germany.
