About

The Kehl railway bridge, rebuilt in 1956 on a single track, was a bridge over the Rhine and, at the same time, crossed the border between France and Germany. It has been replaced by a newly constructed double-track bridge since 10 October 2010 (first start-up) to allow a faster passage of trains (maximum 160 km/h). This bridge thus provides the link between the lines from Strasbourg-Ville to Strasbourg-Port-du-Rhin and Appenweier to Kehl.
