Bridge
pont des Catalans
The Catalan Bridge is a Toulouse bridge crossing the Garonne River. It is a bridge in arch and stone and reinforced concrete inaugurated in 1908. We owe its construction to architect Paul Stayé.
This bridge was originally called the Amidonniers Bridge, the name of the neighbourhood it connects. He finally took the name of the Catalan bridge, to honour the friendship that united the cities of Toulouse and Barcelona since the visit of his mayor, Domènec Sanllehy i Alrich, on June 4, 1907. It is a road bridge consisting of a two-lane roadway surrounded by a sidewalk and a bike path.
It is 257 m long for 22 m wide, and has a height of 45 meters.
