The Château de Boulogne-sur-Mer, or Château d'Aumont, is a former castle fort of the first half of the 13th century, remodeled deeply in the 16th century, then in the 18th and 19th centuries and now converted into a museum, which stands on the French commune of Boulogne-sur-Mer, in the department of Pas-de-Calais, in the Hauts-de-France region. With the ramparts, the castle is one of the last medieval architectural ensembles of fortified city still intact in France. The ramparts, with the exception of the parts of the latter already classified as historical monuments, are classified by decree of 16 May 1916 as natural sites and monuments of artistic character. In the case of historical monuments, the castle (except for classified parts) and the enclosure of the old town are registered by order of 10 June 1926; all the facades and roofs, the entrance gate, the bridge, the lower room called La Barbière, the windows of the large room above the lower room are classified by order of 6 October 1977.
