History: The church was built in the 12th century. Cited in 1082 under the name of Ecclesia Sancti Martini de Casello q. vocatur Ballaruc then in 1187 in a bubble of Pope Urban III, it was a possession of the chapter of St Peter and St Paul Cathedral of Maguelone Sold to private individuals in 1950, the church served as a cinema, hardware and florist shop until it was bought back by the municipality in 1994 after it had been listed on 17 October 1989.

Architecture: In Romanesque style, the church has a beautiful polygonal bedside built in shell limestone from the quarries of Balaruc-le-Vieux assembled in Opus Monspeliensis, an apparatus alternating thin and high-cut stone seats, placed alternately flat and on field. This bedside is pierced by a curved door and is divided vertically into two registers by a stone cord.
