Saint-Leufroy Church is a Catholic parish church located in the municipality of Tiverny, Oise. It is a building of very modest dimensions of only four spans, which illustrates how the architectural principles developed for large churches were transposed on a smaller scale while taking into account budgetary constraints. Half of the walls of the nave come from the previous Romanesque church of the 11th century, and the portal with broken sticks around 1130 is also Romanesque.
The nave was rebuilt in the Gothic style around 1230 / 1240 and is influenced by the ancient nave of St.Medard's church in Creil. The choir was replaced a generation later by an almost austere construction, decorated sparingly. However, it contains a rare fragment of original stained glass, which represents the patron saint of the church, Saint Leufroy of Evreux.
The church was listed as a historic monument by order of October 16, 1930. It has undergone several restorations and is now in a perfect state of conservation. Affiliated to the parish of Notre-Dame-des-deux-Rivières du Creillois-Sud, the church was practically no longer used for several...
