Built in 1954 by architect Édouard Lardillier, a great name for the theatre architecture, it preserves in its hall a spectacular glass wall glazed and engraved in the workshops of Robert Pansart. Replaced as a theatre labeled National Scene by the Theatre Auditorium de Poitiers (TAP) since 2008, it served as a cinema of Art and Essai until December 2012. It has been closed since that date.
