About

Église Saint-Pierre de Lémenc is a church in the commune of Chambéry in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Built on the remains of a Roman temple dedicated to the god Mercury, possibly from the sixth century onwards, the church would be the oldest in Chambéry and one of Savoy's oldest. A priorial church in Lemenc, it preserves part of the Romanesque architecture of the 11th century church and the Gothic architecture of its reconstruction at the beginning of the 16th century.

It also includes a crypt containing a rotunda from the 9th century to the 11th century, murals from the Renaissance and a tomb (sepulchre) from the 16th century. The crypt and the tomb have been classified as historical monuments since 16 February 1900, and the rest of the church has been registered since 16 May 1966.
