Theater building
théâtre Charles-Dullin
Charles Dullin Theatre is a theatre in the commune of Chambéry in the department of Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The present theatre was the result of the reconstruction in 1866 of a previous building built in 1824 and destroyed by fire. Of this building remain only the arcades of the lower part of the facade, whose difference in materials used is responsible for the presence of two distinct shades of colour.
Dedicated since the 20th century to Savoyard actor and director Charles Dullin, the theatre has the national stage label with Espace Malraux. The building has been the subject of a partial inscription as well as a classification for historical monuments since 1984 and 1986 respectively. In addition, its front-scene curtain is also classified as French movable heritage.
