About

The Church of the Trinity is a parish Catholic church located in La Chapelle-en-Serval, France. The parish was erected in 1246, replacing that of the disappeared village of Geni, which was reunited in the nearby parish of Orry-la-Ville. The present church emerged from the reconstruction after the Hundred Years War and displayed the flamboyant Gothic style.

Initially, during the first half of the sixteenth century, only the last span and apse were built, and the nave of the previous church or chapel continued to serve. The rest of the church was built some time later. Its architecture is very banal, and somewhat repetitive; There is no evidence of some stylistic research.

In this regard, the Trinity Church is representative of the rural churches of the late Gothic period, although aesthetic requirements are generally higher in the region. The bell tower is more recent, and belongs to the end of the Renaissance; It is a replica of the southern tower of Saint Peter's Church in Senlis. The vaults of the first spans of the nave were probably added after that in 1685.
