Simone Veil bridge

The Simone-Veil Bridge is a bridge over the Garonne connecting the municipalities of Bordeaux and Bègles on the left bank of the river to that of Floirac on the right bank, at the level of Arkéa Arena, upstream of the railway bridge of Saint-Jean station and Saint-Jean bridge. It is a beamed bridge, designed mainly by the Dutch firm OMA (Rem Koolhaas) and built under the control of Bordeaux Métropole, whose inauguration took place on 6 July 2024, after six and a half years of work. The bridge is awarded in the category of infrastructure and works of art by the jury of the silver square 2024.
