About

Saint Martin Church is a parish Catholic church located in Cires-lès-Mello, Oise department, France. Its date of foundation is unknown, but dates back at least to the end of the 12th century, when the transept and the square choir were built, in the primitive Gothic style. The interest of these elements is largely obliterated by the collapse of several vaults during the Hundred Years' War or the ensuing decades, and imperfect reconstruction.

On the other hand, the nave and its sides, which date back to the years 1230-1250, are of a nice bill, and present an elevation on three levels, with the large double roller arcades, a floor of galleries with now blocked bays, and the floor of the high windows. These take the form of triplets, rarely used for side windows. On the outside, we notice above all the beautiful layout of the western facade, with a porch under an acute gable, and an octagonal staircase turret, both still original.
