About

Saint-Nicolas Church is a parish Catholic church located in Raray, Oise, France. It is a small building of a rather pure Gothic style, which was probably built in the 1520s / 1530s. Its eastern parts re-use older structures, and the bell tower in the building, as well as the vault of the Saint Joseph Chapel on the ground floor, date back to the middle of the 12th century.

Both outside and inside, the architecture is neat, which is reflected in the abundant décor of the western gate, the wavy pillars, the complex modeling and the flamboyant networks with trilobed lancettes, topped with bellows and specks. All spans are arched with warheads. The church received a complete restoration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was classified as a historical monument by decree of 28 November 1921.
