About

Saint-Rémi Church is a Catholic parish church located in Orrouy, Oise, France. It is one of the very few churches to own a Romanesque bell tower in the 1130s, largely inspired by the western tower of Morienval. The basilical nave, built after the bell tower, already has large arcades in third-point, but is not designed to be vaulted.

The windows, located above the pillars, are now closed by the roofs of the lower side. The flat ceiling dates from around 1760. Higher than the nave is the flamboyant Gothic choir hall finished around 1540.

Its plan fits into a rectangle, and its six spans are arched at the same height. The execution is neat, as well as the decoration of the foothills, quite unusual, but the architecture shows little originality inside, where the vaults and pillars in particular are of great simplicity. The main attraction of the choir is these five Renaissance windows of the early 1540s, which constitute one of the most important ensembles of this time in the rural churches of the department.
