The abbey of Saint-Martin d'Huiron is a former Benedictine abbey located in Huiron in the French department of La Marne in the Grand Est region.

History: In 1063, the bishop of Châlons, Roger III sent some Benedictines to Huiron; They settled on the mountain overlooking the village on a hill between Vitry and the village of Margerie, and built a chapel dedicated to Saint Martin. The lives of these religious and the services they render, are worth to them rich alms of the lords of the place, Guido ad Barbam (Gui à la Barbe), Hugues his brother and Hersinde their sister, married to the sire of Arzillières and those of Bar, Grandpré, Châtelraould, Dampierre, Saint-Chéron, etc... In 1134 Bishop Geoffroy converted this priory into a regular abbey; approved by Popes Lucien III and Urbain III in 1187, which three years later allowed them to raise a parish church backed by the monastery wall. A charter of 1280, given by Gauthier d'Arzillières, recognizes to the abbey "li ban de la justice dou leu de la vallé d'Oyron"; In 1330, the leprosy of Mount Moret, near Courdemanges, was annexed to the abbey with all its properties, because of the maladministration...
