Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Church is a parish Catholic church located in Gaillon-sur-Montcient, Yvelines, France. It is probably still the early church of the parish, which was completed in the middle of the 12th century and then enlarged in the early 13th century. This church is characterized by its stumped silhouette, which is attributable to the Romanesque bell tower largely drowned in the attic, but nevertheless dominated by an elegant stone arrow, and also by the strong imbalance between the nave of the faithful and the eastern parts.
In fact, the nave has only two spans, and has never possessed a low side, but is nevertheless vaulted with warheads since its construction at the end of the Romanesque period. To the east, the transept also a novel, whose cross serves as the basis for the bell tower, as well as the Gothic choir with its two collaterals, total nine spans spread over three ships. The choir was at two levels of elevation, and twice in height exceeded its lateral chapels, as always evidenced by its bedside with two superimposed triplets.
But its two vaults were insufficiently countered, and did not resist the time. They were replaced...
