église Notre-Dame-de-Fougeray de Cormery
The Church of Notre-Dame-de-Fougeray, sometimes called the Church of Notre-Dame-du-Fougeray, is a parish church dedicated to Catholic worship in the commune of Cormery, department of Indre-et-Loire, France. The construction of this building, which may have replaced another non-localized building, took place in two stages during the 12th century at the initiative of the monks of Saint Paul Abbey, but subsequent changes took place, such as the resumption of the structure and the bell tower in the 15th century after the ravages of the Hundred Years War or the addition of an awning against the main façade in the modern era. It was classified as historical monuments in 1912. A baptismal tank (XII century), frescoes on the walls of the nave (XIII century), stalls and statues in the choir (XV century) are referred to in the Palissy base.
