lanterne des Morts de Cormery
Cormery's lantern of the dead is a monument located in the Cormery cemetery in Indre-et-Loire, France. While this monument, probably of the twelfth century, is commonly referred to as "the lantern of the dead", certain architectural features, such as the full structure of its column, bring it closer to a hosanary cross whose top, mutilated, would have lost its distinctive attributes. Unique in Indre-et-Loire, the lantern of the dead was classified as historical monuments in 1920.
